Those symptoms are not proof of an EDID problem, but EDID is one of the first things worth checking because it is how the source learns what the downstream chain claims to support.
What DR HDMI 8K can expose
The web interface reports the EDID seen at the output and the EDID presented to the input. The manual also describes video flags for FRL rate, VRR, ALLM, HDR and Dolby Vision. That makes it possible to compare what the display advertises with what the source is being shown.
A sensible 4K120 troubleshooting method
- Confirm the source and display are both detected at RX and TX.
- Inspect the sink EDID and confirm the expected high-bandwidth capabilities are present.
- Test a known 4K120 preset from the predefined EDID list.
